Currently, There Is No Question of the Resignation of FF President Arthur Vanetsyan on Our Agenda: Aren Mkrtchyan
Recent events within the Football Federation of Armenia are unacceptable to us. This statement was made by Aren Mkrtchyan, a member of the Executive Committee of the Football Federation of Armenia and a member of the ‘My Step’ faction in the National Assembly, during a briefing with journalists, referring to the national team's defeat against Italy with a score of 9-1 yesterday.
“This defeat has no justification or explanation,” said Mkrtchyan. “The number one responsible is the coach, but Abraham Khashmanyan is only in his second game leading the Armenian national football team. Everyone is exclusively to blame, and the number one responsible is the president of the Football Federation.”
When asked whether the FF Executive Committee has a demand for the resignation of FF President Arthur Vanetsyan, Aren Mkrtchyan responded, “This question is not currently on our agenda, and when it is, we will inform you.”
Regarding whether this position has been influenced by the fact that Arthur Vanetsyan is no longer a member of their (ruling political group) team, Aren Mkrtchyan replied, “Mr. Vanetsyan has been the director of the NSS and has never been a member of our team. The director of the NSS is never a member of any team.” He also stated that the FF Executive Committee does not have the direct authority to demand the resignation of the FF president but can convene a meeting to raise the issue.
