Armenian Surgeon in Moscow Disfigures Patient and Flees Abroad
The plastic surgeon Gevorg Stepanyan from the "Sfera" clinic in Moscow, who is accused of disfiguring one of the clinic's patients, has hidden abroad after being released from investigative custody. This was reported to TASS by lawyer Andrei Mikhonov, who represents the interests of the victim, Karolina Sargsyan.
"Stepanyan was recently released from custody and, having signed not to leave the investigation, has hidden abroad," the lawyer stated. He noted that the investigation has not yet clarified the whereabouts of the accused.
The forensic results from the "Sfera" clinic indicate the guilt of the institution's staff, the victim's lawyer added. "We have reviewed the conclusions of the commission's examination, which fully confirmed the clinic staff's responsibility for causing serious harm to Karolina's health. The examination corroborated the guilt of the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and clinic director," the lawyer stated.
According to him, the experts' commission concluded that there is a direct causal link between the actions of the clinic and the severe harm caused to his client’s health during the rhinoplasty.
