New Details on the Chaos at Zvartnots Airport

On October 24, at 23:25, the '911' service received a report that an explosive device had been discovered on the second floor of the Zvartnots International Airport; rescue teams were needed.

A team from the Yerevan Fire and Rescue Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, along with three teams from the Special Rescue Operations Center, operational and emergency response teams from the Crisis Management National Center, a psychological counseling instructor, a duty doctor from the Disaster Medicine Center, and an engineering rescue team from the Collective Center of Civil Protection, were dispatched to the scene.

An unknown mass was found in a polyethylene bag near the entrance door on the second floor. Before the rescuers arrived, police officers had moved the bag to the parking lot, approximately 50 meters from the building.

Preliminary inspections revealed that the discovered material was not explosive. From 23:39 to 00:25, the rescuers maintained a presence on site.
