The Most Powerful Typhoon Approaches Japan: Casualties Reported
The most powerful typhoon in the last 60 years, named "Hagibis," is approaching Japan, and it may surpass the devastation caused by Typhoon "Ida," which struck the country in 1958, resulting in the loss of 1,200 lives. This was announced by Yasuji Kajiwara, a representative of the Japan Meteorological Agency, as reported by RIA Novosti.
In Chiba Prefecture, over 770,000 people have been left without electricity. There are reports of 1 fatality and 6 injuries. Evacuations for 1.7 million people are planned. Airlines have canceled nearly 2,000 flights.
The typhoon is moving toward the Japanese archipelago from the southeast. Restaurants, pharmacies, and shops in Tokyo have already closed.
