Either 'You provide us with drugs, or we will rape your relative': New details from Vanadzor incident
According to SHAMSHYAN.com, a 46-year-old resident of Vanadzor, Hakob Grigoryan, has been arrested as a suspect in the shooting incident that took place in the city. As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, a criminal case has been initiated against him under Article 104, Part 1, Clause 2 of the RA Criminal Code.
After committing the crime, upon noticing that the police arrived at the scene within minutes, he approached them and, confirming they were police officers, admitted that he had killed the individuals in question. He was subsequently taken to the Lori Regional Department of the Police.
The number of victims could have been higher if the police of Vanadzor and the doctors at Vanadzor Hospital had not responded promptly. They rushed all the injured to the hospital, where Vanadzor doctors managed to save four lives, while one more was transferred to a hospital in Yerevan after receiving first aid on the spot.
Suspect H. Grigoryan has previously been convicted twice for drug addiction and was in the process of obtaining legal substances for treatment. Among the deceased and injured, there are also individuals with prior convictions; some of them had asked H. Grigoryan for drugs, but he refused to provide any. In response, he received a threat: either 'you provide us with drugs, or we will rape your relative.'
On the day of the murder, when they gathered at H. Grigoryan's house, which had always been a gathering place, he opened fire with the weapon he had.
