Four Citizens Voluntarily Presented Themselves to Police Regarding Incident at 'Hayeli' Club: Edgar Janoyan

Four individuals voluntarily presented themselves to the police regarding the incident recorded at the 'Hayeli' club and provided explanations. This was stated by Edgar Janoyan, Deputy Head of the Information Department of the Police of Armenia, in response to a question from Tert.am.

"During the preparation of materials at the police station, four individuals voluntarily presented themselves at the central police department and provided the necessary explanations. A criminal case has been initiated based on the characteristics of Part 1 of Article 164 of the Criminal Code," Janoyan said.

It should be noted that a criminal case has been opened based on Part 1 of Article 164 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, which outlines the obstruction of a journalist's lawful professional activities.

Recall that yesterday, four young individuals besieged the 'Hayeli' press club. They threw eggs at the doors of the club and posted banners. One of them, who introduced himself as citizen David Hovhannisyan, stated that he demands the closure of the media outlet.

Earlier, Gor Abrahamyan, an advisor to the Prosecutor General of Armenia regarding media matters, reported that a criminal case had been initiated at the central police department regarding the incident that occurred near the 'Hayeli' press club, following the order of the prosecutor of Yerevan under Part 1 of Article 164 of the Criminal Code.
