Shooting in Vanadzor Leaves 3 Dead and 5 Injured (Photos)

An extraordinary incident occurred in the Lori region overnight. At around 00:30, the Lori Regional Police received a call from the Vanadzor Medical Center reporting that a medical team had been dispatched to 20 Michurini Street in Vanadzor, where they discovered the bodies of two young men and transported several injured individuals to the hospital.

According to Gagik Shamshyan, a photojournalist at the scene, an operational group from the Lori Regional Police, led by Police Chief Gevorg Hakobyan, as well as operational teams from the police departments of Bazum and Gugark, headed by division chiefs Artur Mkrtchyan and Vazgen Torosyan, arrived. Many investigators from the Lori Regional Investigative Directorate of the Armenian Investigative Committee, led by Chief Anna Mantashyan, also arrived at the scene.

Police and investigators found the bodies of the two young men at the specified location and confirmed that one of the five individuals transported to the hospital had also died.

The deceased have been identified as 30-year-old Andranik Ohanian and 25-year-old Davit Ohanian, both residents of Vanadzor. The hospital treated 30-year-old Gor Grigoryan, 26-year-old Gevorg Gevorgyan, 29-year-old Levon Zhamharyan, 25-year-old Levon Khachatryan, and 21-year-old Andranik Tadevosyan. The identity of another injured individual is being clarified. Gor Grigoryan succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at the Vanadzor Medical Center.

According to the photojournalist, the deceased Davit and Andranik Ohanian were siblings. Preliminary reports indicate that the injured individuals have wounds consistent with sharp cutting objects, and further information regarding the injuries sustained by the deceased will be revealed after forensic examinations.
