VIDEO: "Imprisoned Robert Kocharyan has won an interim but significant victory," NTV's coverage of the Constitutional Court decision on Kocharyan's case

The Russian NTV television channel has reported on the Constitutional Court's decision regarding the case of Armenia's second president Robert Kocharyan.

In the video published by the channel, it is noted that imprisoned Robert Kocharyan has achieved an interim, yet important victory.

The news presenter states that the Constitutional Court of Armenia has ruled that the detention of the former president contradicts the Constitution, under which Kocharyan enjoys immunity.

It is also mentioned that supporters of the former president welcomed the Court's decision with applause.

It should be recalled that on September 4, the Constitutional Court partially granted Robert Kocharyan's appeals.

The President of the Constitutional Court, Hrayr Tovmasyan, read the decision regarding the lawsuit presented by the former president's defense team on Wednesday. The lawsuit challenged the compliance of certain articles of Armenia's Criminal Procedure Code with the Constitution. Article 35 of the Criminal Procedure Code, which outlines the "circumstances excluding the conduct of criminal proceedings," has been recognized as unconstitutional.
