VIDEO: Lukashenko Harvests Watermelons
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko organized a watermelon harvest. In the field, the state leader was assisted by his press secretary Natalia Eismont and other women from the protocol service.
The video of the harvest has been published on the official website of the Belarusian president. Several Russian news outlets have also reported on this.
The president's press service notes that this summer has not been particularly sunny, so the watermelon yield has not been abundant, with only 20 tons harvested across the country.
Lukashenko went out to the field on August 29, immediately after a meeting with U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton. The American official characterized the meeting as unproductive but emphasized that discussing problematic issues in the countries' relations is very important.
