Hovik Abrahamyan's Acquired Land Plots to be Returned

The former Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, during his tenure as Minister of Territorial Administration in 2007, acquired land plots measuring 5.7 and 1.5 hectares through his driver, belonging to the Dilijan community.

While holding the position of Speaker of the National Assembly, Abrahamyan became the actual owner of four separate land plots totaling 2913 square meters through his security chief.

The Special Investigative Service of Armenia has previously reported that during the investigation of the criminal case against Hovik Abrahamyan, it was revealed that the head of the Dilijan community and members of auction committees had sold 15 plots of land owned by the community to Abrahamyan's relatives and close associates without conducting auctions and by forging documents.

According to the statement from the Special Investigative Service, since the statute of limitations for criminal liability has passed in some of these cases, and in certain instances, amnesty laws have applied, a decision was made by the investigator not to pursue criminal charges against them. Examples of these decisions have been sent to the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure to invalidate the administrative acts and initiate the process of returning the mentioned parcels to the Dilijan community.

According to the newspaper 'Zhoghavor', the head of the Dilijan community, Armen Santrosyan, has informed that the land plots have not yet been returned to the community.
