It's About Tens of Millions of Dollars: Vanetsyan on Gagik Khachatryan's Case
Journalists today asked the Director of the NSS, Arthur Vanetsyan, whether anything was discovered during the search of Gagik Khachatryan's apartment. The senior official noted that he could not disclose any information as it is a pre-investigation secrecy.
In response to the question of why they decided to detain the former head of the State Revenue Committee at this time, Arthur Vanetsyan stated that the NSS does not arrest anyone by order.
"A significant amount of work has been done, and the combination of evidence we have today has justified these actions," he said, adding that the former official has been summoned for questioning several times before the search.
Arthur Vanetsyan emphasized that this case concerns tens of millions of dollars.
He also indicated that Karen Khachatryan, connected with Gagik Khachatryan, who has held a position in the SRC, will be detained as well.
"We have not taken any action against Gagik Khachatryan's sons, we currently have no evidence regarding them," he added.
As for whether Gagik Khachatryan will be arrested or not, Arthur Vanetsyan said that the investigators will make the decision. He noted that the search of Khachatryan's villa in Tsaghkadzor has just been completed, and the investigative team is now returning to Yerevan.
