Large Fire in the Forest of Yeghegis

Reports emerged in the media that a fire broke out in the Khosrov Forest. In an interview with SHANTNEWS.am, Yeghegis village chief Arthur Stepanyan clarified that the burning forest is not Khosrov but their own forest. “It’s a large fire. Firefighters are working on it. We have mobilized the residents, trying to extinguish the fire, but it’s challenging as the wind is hindering our efforts,” he stated.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Edmon Zargaryan, mentioned that they received alerts about a fire in Khosrov Forest, but firefighters have not yet arrived on the scene and do not know if that forest is indeed burning or not. They have information that a large volume of smoke is visible.
