Video: I am very pleased with the performance of the rescuers. Soon we'll be fine, I'll take everyone to "Parvana" to honor them, says Samvel Aleksanyan

Former National Assembly member and businessman Samvel Aleksanyan highly values the work of the rescue service employees at the "Malatia Mall" following a fire incident. He expressed this in an interview with Tert.am.

"I evaluate their work very positively, I did not complain yesterday about it; how did the journalists understand that I was dissatisfied?" he stated.

It is noteworthy that yesterday, while at the scene, Police Chief Valeriy Osipyan was informed by Samvel Aleksanyan that they were unable to extinguish the fire. "Unfortunately, one floor caught fire, they could not extinguish it, then the second caught fire, again they could not extinguish it, then the third... different floors were burning: the Ministry of Emergency Situations' vehicles have just arrived in large numbers; if they had come earlier, it wouldn't have been this way. Initially, only four two-ton trucks arrived, and then the new vehicles came," he added.

Samvel Aleksanyan also mentioned to Tert.am that he still does not know the cause of the fire, but reiterated, "Our rescuers were working very well, I am very pleased and thankful. Soon we'll be fine; I'll take everyone to 'Parvana' to honor them," he remarked.

Regarding the criticisms directed at him for encouraging workers to go to the fire scene to salvage items in the mall, Samvel Aleksanyan responded, "First of all, those items don't belong to me; they belong to 'Veg'. I don't have any goods here; how could I send them into the mouth of the fire? 'Veg' is not mine. Go ask Yura from 'Veg' to whom 'Veg' belongs?" He emphasized that only the building of the mall belongs to him, which he has rented out.
