Malatia Mall Shopping Center Today: What’s the Situation After the Fire
Azatutyun Radio has released a video on its page showing the Malatia Mall shopping center after yesterday's fire. On August 25th at 05:24, a fire broke out in the Malatia Mall building located at 141/5 Sebastatsi Street, Yerevan. The fire was contained.
As of 08:30, fire extinguishing operations involve 13 fire and rescue units from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, two aerial platforms, an emergency response team from the National Crisis Management Center, one specialized vehicle from the gas protection service, and two KamAZ vehicles from the Armenian-Russian Humanitarian Response Center.
As a result of the fire, seven injured individuals were transported to Astghik Medical Center and Armenia Medical Center, where they received appropriate medical assistance and were discharged.
A total of 19 fire-fighting teams, two aerial platforms, specialized rescue teams from the special operations center, crisis management response units, a standby team from the Disaster Medicine Center, and a psychological consultant from the psychological support division were involved in the firefighting efforts, totaling 434 rescuers. The municipality provided water tank vehicles for support.
Information on the firefighting operations is being regularly reported to the Minister of Emergency Situations. The fire was extinguished at 13:53. Additional information will be provided.
