VIDEO: Fire at Malatia Mall Contained, 13 Fire Units Currently on Scene

On August 25 at 05:24, a fire broke out at the Malatia Mall located at 141/5 Sebastia Street, Yerevan. The fire has been contained by 08:30.

As of now, 13 fire units, including two aerial ladders, from the Emergency Situations Ministry's Rescue Department in Yerevan are working at the scene, alongside the rapid response team from the National Center for Crisis Management, a specialized vehicle from the gas and smoke protection service, and two KamAZ vehicles from the Armenian-Russian humanitarian response center.

As a result of the fire, seven injured individuals were transported to Astghik Medical Center and Armenia Medical Center, where they received appropriate medical care and were later discharged.

Nineteen firefighting units, two aerial ladders, a specialized rescue unit from the emergency response operations center, crisis management national center rapid response and operational teams, an on-call team from the disaster medicine center, as well as a psychological counseling instructor from the psychological support department (a total of 434 rescuers) have been involved in the firefighting operations. The city administration has provided water tankers to assist with firefighting.

Information regarding firefighting efforts is regularly reported to the Minister of Emergency Situations. Further information will be provided.
