Samvel Babayan Plans to Block Roads to Artsakh
According to information from the "Zhoghovurd" newspaper, tensions between the authorities of the Republic of Artsakh and Samvel Babayan's associates have reached a peak these days. Based on circulating information in Artsakh, Samvel Babayan has plans to block the interstate roads leading to Artsakh through his associates in the event of a rejection of a signature collection.
Authorities in Artsakh are aware of this situation and are taking measures to prevent the escalation. Meanwhile, the Artsakh Central Electoral Commission already has a rough estimate of the number of signatures that Babayan's supporters have gathered.
Yesterday, "Zhoghovurd" interviewed former Armenian Deputy Defense Minister Gagik Melkonyan, one of Babayan's supporters, who stated, "The end of Bako Sahakian's power has come. The example of Armenia exists; Artsakh has seen it well. The people will rise, and they will drive everyone away. Once the people of Artsakh stand up, no one can play games there either."
