Commander Forced Soldiers to Vote for BHK Candidate
The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that the commander of the 3rd training battalion of the Armenian Ministry of Defense's military unit No. N, Norayr Khachatryan, is accused of forcing a group of conscript soldiers to vote for the Prosperous Armenia Party's parliamentary candidate Arayik Aghababyan during the 2018 parliamentary elections. As a result of this action, he has found himself in court.
A measure of restraint in his case has been imposed, requiring him to sign an agreement not to leave the country.
Regarding the situation, "Zhoghovurd" attempted to contact MP A. Aghababyan from the BHK faction in the National Assembly, but his phone was turned off. While this revelation by law enforcement is commendable, as the military should remain uninvolved in political processes, it would be beneficial for the names of other MPs to also be mentioned alongside A. Aghababyan’s.
