Aerial Ambulance Cannot Fly at Night: Citizens with Serious Injuries Denied Transport to Hospital
According to the "Haykakan Zhamanak" newspaper, it became known that a citizen sustained serious injuries a few days ago in one of Armenia's regions. When relatives attempted to call for a helicopter for transport to a medical center, they received a negative response. It turns out that the aerial ambulance touted by Health Minister Arsen Torosyan cannot operate flights at night in Armenia.
Regarding this issue, the "Haykakan Zhamanak" newspaper reached out to Armenian Helicopters company, from which they stated: "They do not operate at night because the helicopter performs visual flights, which is not feasible in Armenia due to mountainous conditions. In general, it is a visual flight, and technically, considering Armenia's geographical position, it cannot be organized. It should be noted that the minister's intention to establish aerial ambulance services has raised a wave of dissatisfaction among certain specialists, as aerial ambulance services are not adapted to the basic conditions of providing medical assistance. Furthermore, there are now complaints from some citizens in Armenia."
