The Priority is the Security and Status of Artsakh, Says MFA Spokesperson

The Republic of Armenia views the resolution of the Artsakh conflict exclusively within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship and based on the principles of international law. This was stated by Anna Naghdalyan, the spokesperson for the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs, during a discussion held on July 23, as reported by Armenpress.

“Our principled position and approaches regarding the resolution process are enshrined in the governmental document, which is open, and where all elements are clearly indicated. Our statements are based on the framework outlined in those elements. Specifically, the resolution of the issue must occur exclusively within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship and based on the principles of international law, particularly the principles of equal rights of peoples and self-determination,” emphasized Naghdalyan.

She highlighted that the priority for Armenia is the security and status of Artsakh, and as a key party to the conflict, Artsakh must have involvement and a decisive voice in any lasting and genuine peace resolution process.

The spokesperson noted that under the conditions of Azerbaijan's hatred and the tension at the frontline, it is impossible to conduct parallel effective negotiations.
