New Complaint Against Narek Sargsyan and Former MP Arthur Manukyan

Armtimes.com reports that a new complaint has been filed against Narek Sargsyan, the nephew of Serzh Sargsyan, and Arthur Manukyan, the son of former Prosperous Armenia Party MP Abraham Manukyan. The complaint was submitted in March of this year.

The complaint was filed by Tigran Sargsyan, a friend of Hakob Hovhannisyan, who has already been recognized as a victim in this case. Hovhannisyan's brother (who requested not to reveal his name) recounted that the incident occurred on December 23, 2012. His brother had a financial dispute with his classmate, Erik Baltayan, who turned to his uncle, former MP Arthur Manukyan, for assistance.

To clarify the conversation, Hakob Hovhannisyan went with friends to an underground passage on Koghbatsi Street in Yerevan, where Arthur Manukyan, Narek Sargsyan, and Sargsyan's bodyguards were present in one of the rooms. Hovhannisyan's brother stated that the conversation escalated into a confrontation, during which Narek Sargsyan shot at Hakob Hovhannisyan with a firearm he had on him, but missed. Following this, Narek Sargsyan struck Hakob Hovhannisyan in the chest with a household knife, causing bodily harm.

“They restricted his freedom for about three hours by locking the door to the room. Then Narek instructed his security personnel to take him outside for cleaning purposes. During that time, Hakob attempted to escape, but, reaching near the ‘Moscvichka’ supermarket, he became exhausted. Citizens came to assist him, and after providing first aid, he refused to be taken to the hospital to avoid further complications,” explained the victim's brother, adding that no complaint had been filed after the incident.
