VIDEO: Fire Breaks Out at the Border with Nakhichevan Due to Enemy Gunfire

A fire broke out at the border with Nakhichevan due to enemy gunfire during the night.

In an interview with Aysor.am, the mayor of the border village of Khachik, Hovik Smbatyan, stated that the fire ignited at the boundary of their village as a result of gunfire from the adversary.

“We managed to extinguish the fire by 2 a.m. with the help of villagers and firefighters, and it can be said that there was no significant damage,” he noted.

Smbatyan mentioned that there is still smoke visible in the village at this time, and they are trying to determine its source.

Father Hovhannes Matevosyan, the spiritual leader of Khachik village, also released a video of the fire, informing that as of 1:30 a.m., the spread of the fire to the fields had been halted.

“I thank you for your concern and prayers,” he added.
