6 Dead and 11 Injured. Emergency Situations Ministry Releases Names of Victims

The Ministry of Emergency Situations has released the names of those affected by the accident at the Zod Bridge.

The victims of the traffic accident are: Solomon Hakobyan (born 1956, Yerevan), Tsaghik Hakobyan (born 1999, Yeraskh village), Gagik Ghukasyan (born 1991, Surenavan village), Hranush Arzumanyan (born 1973, Vayk city), Nkuryan Andranik (born 1977, Ararat city), Sarik Aslanyan (born 1996, Ararat city), Nare Grigoryan (7 years old, Vayk city), Slavik Ishkhanian (born 1953, Yerevan city), Rouzanna Hakobyan (born 1984, Yeraskh village), Arsen Mikayelyan (born 2006, Ararat city), Felix Meloyan (born 2007, Surenavan village).

The following individuals died as a result of the accident: S.H. (born 1956, Yerevan), T.H. (born 1999, Yeraskh village), G.G. (born 1991, Surenavan village), H.A. (born 1973, Vayots Dzor province), and A. (born 1977, Ararat city).

The Investigative Committee reports that a criminal case has been initiated in the Ararat regional investigative department based on the characteristics of the third part of Article 242 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.

Rescue services, the police, and the officers of the Investigative Committee are working at the scene. The head of the Road Police of the Republic of Armenia, Egor Karapetyan, is also present at the scene, who stated that there are six casualties as a result of the accident.

“A traffic accident occurred on the Yerevan-Yeraskh road at the 54 km mark. According to preliminary data, there are six fatalities. That is all we know at this moment. We cannot say why the fire broke out; however, a fire ignited immediately after the accident,” stated Karapetyan.
