Shirak Governor Clarifies Information Regarding Permanent Solution to Homelessness in Disaster Zone
Shirak Governor Tigran Petrosyan has issued a statement on his Facebook page:
“The words of the Chairman of the State Committee of Urban Development of Armenia, Vahagn Vermishyan, regarding a permanent solution to the homelessness issue in the disaster zone with 3 billion drams in 2020, primarily pertain to a group recognized as beneficiaries by the state years ago in rural communities, amounting to about 450 families.
According to the working group established by the Prime Minister's directive, approximately 2,450 inhabited temporary shelters have currently been mapped in the city of Gyumri. The issue concerning residents of these shelters has no relation to Mr. Vermishyan's statement, yet some media outlets are mistakenly presenting this as a complete solution to the homelessness problem. In advance, I can say that soon the timelines for solving this issue will also be clarified.”
