Some of the animals have yet to be found, having disappeared in the forest area. Photographs indicate that the animals are indeed swollen; some have their necks cut, and the mass protruding from their throats appears to be algae or grass. It is likely that they were mutilated post-mortem to investigate what they had consumed.
