Have Hundreds of Individuals Who Received Burial Benefits Been Held Accountable? MP to Yolyan

Member of Parliament from the "My Step" faction Arpine Davoyan addressed the President of the Audit Chamber Levon Yolyan with questions regarding the statistics of burial benefits. She cited that there are numerous cases of an individual receiving burial benefits, totaling 86 million drams, with 60 individuals receiving 448 burial benefits. Notably, 4 individuals received 267 burial benefits amounting to 53.4 million drams, while 1 individual received 169 burial benefits, and 3 individuals received 45, 35, and 18 burial benefits respectively.

"I want to understand whether these have only been recorded by the Audit Chamber and left unaddressed, or should we also be informed about who these individuals are? It is important to know whether they have been held accountable, if they are undergoing accountability proceedings, or if we have recorded this and moved on, or whether actions have been taken," she questioned.

Yolyan reiterated that the Audit Chamber's powers are limited, noting that Parliament also has oversight functions, and they can contact the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs to obtain that information. "This information is very accessible for them - whether it was done through a bank or through Haypost. One individual received an amount of 33.4 million drams, the volume is significant; you can contact social affairs and receive a response," said Yolyan.
