Salmonella Detected in Food from One of the Restaurants: Cause of Poisonings Identified
Recently, participants at a public catering organization experienced gastrointestinal symptoms typical of infections, with several individuals seeking medical assistance. Measures were taken to investigate the cause-and-effect relationships of the reported case, which were also accompanied by laboratory studies.
According to the results of the laboratory research, salmonella bacteria were found in a sample of food taken from the same establishment, as well as in a sample from the kitchen staff. Disturbances were also detected in the environmental samples taken from surfaces in the vicinity.
It is important to note that laboratory tests of patient biological samples also confirmed the presence of salmonella infection, according to the Armenian Ministry of Health.
