Night Heats Up: 74 Drivers' Vehicles Towed to Police Special Area

Police units from the Yerevan city administration, territorial subdivisions, patrol service, and road police operated in an increased mode on July 7 in the capital. The goal remained the same: to protect public order and traffic safety from criminal and unlawful infringements.

One of the key objectives of the intensified service was to prevent and disrupt violations threatening traffic safety. Despite numerous calls from the police, there are drivers who elevate themselves above other traffic participants and demonstrate disrespect towards them with their actions, deliberately allowing gross violations of traffic rules.

A total of 74 such drivers were identified, and their vehicles were towed to a special area controlled by the road police. Among them, 12 were driving under the influence of alcohol, 3 had replaced license plates, and 2 drivers were in a state of drifting, openly displaying disrespect towards other traffic participants and residents.

Additionally, 6 motorcycles and 2 wanted vehicles were also moved to the special area. Other violations included 6 vehicles equipped with loud exhausts designated for high-volume traffic, 23 operating without a liability insurance contract, and 15 vehicles with tinted windows.
