Artsakh Defense Ministry Responds Firmly to Azerbaijani Provocation
From May 26 to June 1, the Artsakh-Azerbaijan conflict zone witnessed approximately 220 ceasefire violations by the adversary, during which over 3,500 shots were fired at Armenian positions using various caliber firearms.
Notably, 80 of these violations occurred during the night of May 31 to June 1, with Azerbaijani forces firing around 2,350 shots, primarily from sniper rifles and larger caliber weapons. As a result, on June 1, around 07:30, an Armenian serviceman, 23-year-old Sipan Sergeki Melikonyan, was fatally wounded in a targeted area of one of the units deployed in the southeastern direction.
The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Artsakh expresses its condolences to the family of the fallen soldier and simultaneously declares that the adversary’s provocations will not go unanswered, and the consequences will be painful.
