Deputy Minister Submits Resignation, Makes Statement

Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments Mane Adamyan announced on her Facebook page, "I would like to inform you that I am resigning from my position at the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia (now the Ministry of Economy)."

"Although during this time we all worked on everything possible at the ministry, one of my key constitutional functions, the national coordination of EU programs, will no longer be among our ministry's responsibilities. Regardless of which government body performs this function, I will do everything possible to ensure a smooth transition. My other important function, co-chairing intergovernmental commissions on economic matters, has also been redistributed among various ministries, along with all related work."

"It has been a great honor for me to serve as a deputy minister in post-revolutionary Armenia. I would like to thank Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for his trust, all my colleagues for their hard work, and I have a special gratitude to all my colleagues in the ministry, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and his office for their professional curation of work with the European Union and international partners."

"This has been a wonderful experience, and although I cannot convey all the work accomplished in one post, it may be appropriate to present a few key results of importance:
1. Resolution of the suspended status of EU support programs that have been pending since 2017, ensuring the provision of assistance worth 150 million euros, with some of the developed programs already launched in various sectors, and I am confident that they will bear fruit.
2. Conducting negotiations on Armenia's commitment to the rebranding of cognac as stipulated by the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, which has resulted in a support package being negotiated that is eight times larger than the amount initially proposed by the EU.
3. Development of a roadmap for one-third of the agreement, pertaining to Article 6 on Trade and Trade-Related Issues, containing steps that will ensure the proper implementation of this part of the Agreement.
4. Co-chairing or participation in various intergovernmental commissions on economic issues, which has helped establish quality partnerships with officials from various countries, resulting in agreements in several sectors for which I will do everything necessary to ensure continuity.
5. Finally, we organized the Economic Conference of Francophonie in a very short period, resulting in nearly 600 businesspeople from various corners of the world getting acquainted and forging new connections in Armenia. From identifying new export markets to acquiring helicopters, Armenian entrepreneurs will continue to capitalize on the relationships established at the forum."

"I will inform you about my future endeavors next."

Sincerely,
M.
