Turkey Deploys Troops to Nakhichevan: Alarm from Turkologist and Response from Defense Ministry

Turkologist Karen Hovhannisyan has stated on his Facebook page: "Under the guise of 'Unbreakable Brotherhood - 2019' tactical exercises, Turkey has deployed troops to Nakhichevan. Turkey and Azerbaijan are conducting joint tactical exercises on digital artillery in Nakhichevan. In short, Turkish instructors are teaching Azerbaijanis how to fire digital artillery right in the terrain where combat may take place."

How credible is this information and are there troop accumulations at the border? Aurora News attempted to clarify this with the Defense Ministry spokesperson Artur Hunanyan.

"At this moment, I can only say that we are closely monitoring any actions taking place in Azerbaijani territory and controlling the situation," Hunanyan stated in an interview.
