State Duma Deputy on the Unheld Meeting Between Pashinyan and Putin
Yesterday in Nur-Sultan, where the meeting of the Eurasian Economic Council was held, there was no meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Rusarminfo discussed this matter with Leonid Kalashnikov, the head of the State Duma's committee on CIS, Eurasian integration and compatriots' affairs. He noted that circumstances likely prevented the meeting from taking place because when the Russian president has something planned, he usually follows through.
“This means there were circumstances that genuinely did not allow the meeting to occur. One should not search for any conspiratorial reasons in this. No, it most likely turned out this way, especially since Putin's official visit to Armenia is planned for October. I don't believe there was any intentionality in this,” Kalashnikov said, adding that the incident will not affect Armenian-Russian relations.
