«Serj Sargsyan Did Not Leave to Return»

«Hraparak» newspaper reports that during the event commemorating May 28, a member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) stated, "Returning to our roots with symbolic visits to the Church of the Holy Messenger and Nzhdeh's grave," indicating the significance of the day for the party.

The journey to the Church of the Holy Messenger is quite complicated; it requires either walking or at least using a vehicle like a "Willis." Nevertheless, according to the RPA member, the "revolutionary" pilgrimage was well-attended, featuring prominent RPA figures, businessmen, and representatives from regional structures, with a focus on the younger generation. Young members of the RPA who joined the party after the regime change participated in the event.

The pilgrimage was followed by a festive dinner, with Serj Sargsyan serving as the toastmaster. When asked if he indicated a return, a source replied, "First of all, he did not leave to return. The approach was mainly ideological and reminiscent, reflecting on figures like Ashot Navassardyan, Vazgen Sarkisyan, and Andranik Margaryan, much like a political celebration of the army."
