One Should Talk About Things They Understand: Araik Harutyunyan to Edmon Marukyan
Edmon Marukyan has once again addressed higher education institutions. I believe a person should talk about things they understand or are informed about. This was stated by Araik Harutyunyan, Minister of Education, on his Facebook page.
In the minister's post, it is specifically mentioned:
In the case of the Agricultural University, he tried to say something and bit off more than he could chew. Now he has moved on to Yerevan State University and is talking about the politicization of councils. Seriously, Mr. Marukyan? You ask if we have appointed someone from another party? Yes, we have appointed, for instance, your own brother, the highly respected Krist Marukyan (I’m sure you are aware of his appointment).
When appointing individuals, we have never been guided by party affiliation or loyalty to our political force, but rather by their influence in society and their connections with the specific institution as graduates, employers, etc.
The process of depoliticizing universities and schools is irreversible, and you know this very well and see it.
