We Hope to Sign at Least Two Agreements Between EAEU and Partner Countries: Pashinyan

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, is on a working visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan. On May 29, the PM participated in the session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council held in the capital Nur-Sultan.

Following the session, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made a statement to media representatives.

“Dear representatives of the media,

Dear Tigran Sureni,

We have completed the proceedings of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council summit. Today we discussed a very broad range of issues, practically made decisions, and reached agreements on all agenda matters.

This is a commemorative summit of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. It has been 25 years since the proposal of the concept of Eurasian integration and 5 years since the signing of the agreement on the establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union.

This is a symbolic number, and it is precisely this that has conditioned the holding of this summit in Nur-Sultan. And, of course, there are a number of agenda issues that still need to be agreed upon and clarified. However, we have agreed to continue the joint work between the governments on these issues. As I mentioned in my speech, it is very important, and also crucial for Armenia, to expand the external economic ties of the EAEU. Currently, negotiations are underway between the EAEU and Singapore, Egypt, Serbia, Israel, and India. I believe this is a very important direction, as it will genuinely expand opportunities for the business circles of the EAEU member countries. Importantly, we have the political will to work in all these directions. Today, we tasked the Eurasian Economic Commission to activate work in all these areas. We hope that this year we will be able to sign at least two agreements between the EAEU and partner countries. Work in this direction will continue in the near future. I think we can consider this session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council to be successful, and we will continue our work in this spirit.”

A statement has also been made by Tigran Sargsyan, the Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
