Saakashvili Regains Ukrainian Citizenship

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has restored the Ukrainian citizenship of former Georgian President and ex-Odessa Governor Mikheil Saakashvili. This was reported by tvrain.ru.

It is noteworthy that earlier the Georgian politician had appealed to Zelensky with a request to reinstate his Ukrainian citizenship.

Saakashvili was stripped of his Ukrainian citizenship in the summer of 2017 by former President Petro Poroshenko’s decree. He was found guilty of illegal activities and was expelled to Poland.
