President of Artsakh Bako Sahakyan Sends Message
On May 28, the President of the Republic of Artsakh, Bako Sahakyan, sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of the Day of the First Republic of Armenia.
The message states:
“Dear compatriots,
On behalf of the authorities of the Republic of Artsakh and personally from me, I sincerely congratulate you on the occasion of the Day of the First Republic of Armenia.
Today is a holiday for all Armenians—whether in Armenia, Artsakh, or the Diaspora, whether in the homeland or beyond its borders. It is difficult to imagine what would have happened to our people if the First Republic of Armenia had not been established in 1918, if our ancestors had not heroically stood against the enemy and forged the glorious victories of Sardarapat, Bash Apara, and Qarakilisa. Those victories were unimaginable and unbelievable for many, but not for us. The Armenian people, who had just witnessed a new genocide and lost land and homeland, had no alternative; they had to straighten their bent backs and continue their centuries-old path with dignity and a stance worthy of an Armenian.
This was also the case during the years of the Artsakh Liberation War, when all Armenians united to prevent a new genocide, uniting to continue the series of victories in May, liberating the ancient fortress city of Shushi, and protecting and revitalizing the land of our ancestors.
Today, it is our duty to work together with all our strength to continually empower Armenian statehood, develop our Motherland, and always keep our Triad unbreakable.
Once again, I congratulate our entire people on this significant holiday and wish peace, great success, new victories, and achievements.”
