Pashinyan in Sardarapat: Commemorating the 101st Anniversary of the First Republic
The Republic Day is being celebrated today at the Sardarapat Memorial. Present at the Sardarapat Memorial are Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan as well as the spiritual and military-political leadership of Armenia.
Pashinyan congratulated everyone on the occasion of the holiday, noting that the current proud citizens also draw inspiration from that heroism.
“We stand on holy ground because it is here that the sacred blood was shed, granting us the right to live and exist. The sacred blood shed here has proven that the Armenian people are a viable, living nation, and any attempt to put an end to our history is doomed to failure,” he stated.
“We come to express that we are aware of our historical responsibility before the victors of these battles, and we affirm that the blood was not shed in vain; the generations walking here today give new meaning to their heroism.”
“Rest in peace, holy martyrs of Sardarapat, Bash-Aparan, and Gharakilisa, members of the First Republic’s government. Four Prime Ministers, rest in peace, the leadership that forged the heroic struggle; your feat and work have an owner today.”
“From Vazgen to Melkonyan, the heroes of the April War are also inspired by your feats... The soldiers and officers of the Armenian army carry the heavy, yet proud, responsibility of homeland security every day,” the Prime Minister said.
