I Served in the Army, I Don't Know if Gegham Manukyan Did. This Needs to Be Checked. Alen Simonyan
If I am offered to be part of the temporary committee of the National Assembly examining the circumstances of the April War, I will agree. This was stated by the Vice President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, during a meeting with journalists today, May 28, at the Sardarapat Memorial.
According to him, it is evident to everyone that there were many questions during those events. “I don’t want to say various things related to the army and defense on air right now, but there were certain concerns that we need to check and clarify everything, so that there is never a situation in Armenia like what happened. For example, one of the former prime ministers announced that there was no fuel in the tank, and that went unanswered. It must not go unanswered, so that no one ever doubts that everything has been done by the Ministry of Defense and our state, and that our soldiers are fully equipped,” he said.
In response to the remark that Gegham Manukyan, a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, raised the question of whether those who did not serve in the army should examine the circumstances of the April War, Alen Simonyan stated, “The fact that someone did not serve in the army should be used a little less because we have tens of thousands of people working in our structures. I have served in the army; I don’t know if Gegham Manukyan has served or not. That needs to be verified. If I am offered to be in that committee, I will agree.”
