Don't be surprised if a criminal case is opened regarding the 2017 elections in a year. Simonian
Since 1996, there has not been an election in Armenia that the people have not viewed with suspicion. This was stated today by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonian, to reporters. According to Simonian, the only election where there were no doubts was in 1991, and it remains the only case in which no suspicions were raised.
Simonian recalled that he called on Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan not to refer to themselves as president since neither of them has ever won an election against their rivals.
Regarding possible electoral fraud and its legal assessment, Simonian said, "Don't be surprised if a criminal case is opened in a year regarding the 2017 elections, as well as other elections."
