VIDEO: 10 People Killed in Airplane Landing Fire

Ten people have died as a result of the emergency landing of a Superjet 100 at Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport, according to the Moscow news agency citing a source in emergency services.

“Preliminary data indicates that 10 people have died due to the emergency landing and the ensuing fire,” said the source.

The Aeroflot Sukhoi Superjet 100 was set to fly from Moscow to Murmansk but had to return and land while already engulfed in flames due to a fire that broke out on board.

Possible causes for the in-flight fire include electrical malfunction or a lightning strike.
