The President of the Republic, Armen Sarkissian, has given an interview to Jordan's Amman TV. The Jordanian journalist posed a question regarding the first anniversary of his presidency and the changes that have occurred in Armenia.

“April 9, 2018, was not only the day I was elected president, but also the day the new Constitution of Armenia came into effect. This posed another challenge. It became more complicated as the former president was elected by Parliament as the new Prime Minister. That decision led to backlash. And just two weeks later, we saw a significant political change known in various parts of the world as the ‘Velvet Revolution,’” the president responded.
