Review of Employee Numbers and Staff Reductions at Gazprom Armenia

Due to the change in the price of natural gas supplied to Armenia, discussions are currently underway regarding a range of issues, including the review of employee numbers and the reduction of positions, as reported by Gazprom Armenia.

It is worth recalling that at the end of 2018, Prime Minister Pashinyan announced that the price of Russian gas would change at the border, while domestic tariffs for the population would remain unchanged. Later, Gazprom informed that its subsidiary Gazprom Armenia would purchase blue fuel for $165 per thousand cubic meters, up from the previous $150. Subsequently, government officials clarified that the tariff for consumers would be maintained at the expense of cost reductions by Gazprom Armenia. Currently, the gas price stands at $290 per thousand cubic meters.
