Residents Attempt to Block Rubinants Street Following Accident: Details of the Tragic Incident

Earlier, it was reported that an accident occurred on Rubinants Street in Yerevan.

At around 09:30, 28-year-old Davit Barsghyan, a resident of Yerevan, hit a pedestrian with his Opel vehicle with license plate number 35 MA 964 in front of building 22 on Rubinants Street. Shamshyan.com has provided further details regarding the incident.

According to the news agency, the driver did not flee the scene and contacted the Yerevan emergency services at 1-03. The medical team that arrived promptly confirmed the pedestrian's death.

A photojournalist reported that residents living near the scene attempted to block the road, stating that accidents and pedestrian incidents, including fatal ones, frequently occur in that area. They have contacted the traffic police and the Yerevan municipality numerous times to request the installation of speed bumps, which would serve as a deterrent for certain drivers who "press the gas pedal too hard."

The Deputy Head of Yerevan's Traffic Police, D. Avagyan, engaged in negotiations with the residents, after which an agreement was reached to address the issue within the next few days in favor of the residents.
