Strike at Noragavit Customs Office
After the Prime Minister's visit, tensions at the Noragavit Customs Office have not subsided. As is known, an ordinary inspector was dismissed, along with the head of the customs office, due to the flag being placed on the ground.
According to Armdaily.am, the customs office has not been operating normally since early this morning.
The media reports that rumors spread indicating that employees were on strike; however, the employees have attributed the failure to conduct customs clearance to a malfunction in the computer program.
Sources from the media, however, report that about 30 employees have announced that they will submit their resignations. The situation has been attempted to be rectified by Shushan Nersisyan, the Deputy Chair of the State Revenue Committee (SRC), who is responsible for the customs service. However, she has not succeeded, and it is likely that SRC Chairman Davit Ananyan will intervene in the matter.
The SRC’s press service informed us that there are no problems at the customs office, and that employees have not submitted any resignations; operations are proceeding normally.
