Life of Soldier Injured in Car Accident Is Not in Danger: Artsrun Hovhannisyan
“The lives of those injured in the car accident are not in danger. Their health condition is normal,” stated Artsrun Hovhannisyan, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, on his Facebook page.
Earlier, we reported that 18 soldiers were hospitalized due to an accident on the Meghri-Tzirani Gorge road, according to the official website of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. On April 11, at 20:31, the ‘911’ service received a call reporting an accident on the Meghri-Tzirani Gorge road, involving the vehicle of military unit N which had overturned, and that help from rescuers was needed. A firefighting and rescue team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene.
It was revealed that at the 22nd kilometer of the Meghri-Tzirani Gorge road, the vehicle of military unit N—a ZIL 131 model—had strayed off the roadway, collided with a rock, and overturned. Before the rescuers arrived at the scene, 18 soldiers had been hospitalized at the Meghri Medical Center, where the condition of one of the injured was assessed as moderate, while the others were deemed satisfactory. According to doctors, the lives of the injured soldiers are not in danger. The rescuers have cut off the power to the vehicle.
