Man Arrested for Attempted Murder of Military Unit Commander

According to SHAMSHYAN.com, the Investigative Committee of Armenia has submitted a request to the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, seeking a two-month detention order as a preventive measure against 57-year-old Harutyun Sargsyan, a resident of the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district of Yerevan.

As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, Judge Tatevik Grigoryan conducted a closed court session and returned from the deliberation room to approve the senior investigator's request. H. Sargsyan has been transferred from the court to the Nubarashen penitentiary facility.

Earlier, the photojournalist reported from the crime scene that shots were fired in Yerevan on April 5. At approximately 08:10, the Malatia police received a call reporting gunfire in the yard of house number 90 on Andranik Street in the South-Western neighborhood, with reports of injuries. The victim was serving as a commander at the N military unit of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia.
