Bipedal 'Animals' Should Face Criminal Liability: Naira Zohrabyan
Member of Parliament Naira Zohrabyan from the 'Prosperous Armenia' faction wrote on her Facebook page: "Soon, my colleagues and I will introduce an amendment to the Criminal Code that prescribes criminal liability for cruelty to animals, torture, maltreatment, and murder.
Currently, there is Article 92 of the Code of Administrative Offenses that applies to such 'animals.' If the aforementioned 'animal' is an individual, they are only fined 30-50 times the minimum wage, while if it is a legal entity, the fine is 80-100 times. This is unacceptable. Bipedal beings who torture, maltreat, and kill animals should face criminal liability. Very specific liability. They must go to prison, and our draft provides a prison sentence for such beasts. The draft is already prepared, but if there are additional suggestions from various civil society organizations, especially from 'Dingo,' we are ready to meet and discuss."
