Julian Assange Indicted, Faces Up to 5 Years in Prison

Authorities in the United States have indicted Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks and an Australian national. According to the BBC's Russian service, he is accused of conspiracy with Chelsea Manning to provide information to WikiLeaks for the purpose of hacking and publishing classified documents of the U.S. government. Assange faces up to 5 years in prison.

A court hearing has already taken place in London to discuss Assange’s extradition to the U.S., but no final decision has been made yet.
