Brutal Murder in Lori Revealed: Police Provide Details
On April 5, at 17:30, a report was received by the Malatya Division of the Police from a man stating that his brother, Arsen Sardarayan, born in 1973, had traveled to the city of Spitak in a Mercedes vehicle on April 4 at around 16:30 and had not returned.
According to the police's information and public relations department, as a result of extensive operational-search measures and professional work by the main office of criminal investigation and the regional departments of Lori, as well as the divisions of Stepanavan and Tumanyan, Kamо Kirakosyan, born in 1989, was brought to the Tumanyan Division on suspicion of murder along with the Mercedes-Benz vehicle belonging to A. Sardarayan on April 7 at 18:50 from the village of Akhori in Alaverdi community. He provided a confession stating that on April 4 at around 20:30, he argued over monetary issues with A. Sardarayan, the driver of the mentioned taxi vehicle, at the beginning of the city of Vanadzor, during which he seized a knife from his hands and struck him several times in the head, resulting in his death.
After the brutal murder, he transported the body in the same vehicle to a location called “Dsevank” in the area of the village of Haghpat in Alaverdi community, burned it with gasoline, and then moved the charred body wrapped in a sheet in the trunk of the same vehicle to a spring in a place called “Tapi Duz” in Akhori village and covered it with soil and dry leaves.
A criminal case has been initiated under the features of part 1 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia as of April 7.
Kamо Kirakosyan has been arrested. A forensic examination has been appointed. The pre-trial investigation is underway.
