Unexpected Welcome for Prime Minister in Gyumri

Unexpected Welcome for Prime Minister in Gyumri

The newspaper "Hraparak" reports: "Yesterday, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan boarded a train from Yerevan and headed to Gyumri. An 'unexpected' welcome awaited him at the Gyumri railway station: a large crowd of people who came not so much to see and greet the country's leader but to present their problems.

The result was that the pile of letters didn't fit in the hands of Pashinyan's bodyguards. After walking through the city streets and visiting a fish farm, military base, and airport, he returned to the capital.

"After visiting Gyumri, the prime minister will probably write a tragedy instead of a poem," the residents of Gyumri quipped half-jokingly, hinting that the impressions he received from Gyumri, like those after his visit to the village of Ranchpar, would be turned into verse."
